I am a long-term 1-to-1 narrative writer who has been doing collaborative writing for many years with different IPs. My preferred game genre is RPG, though I will also enjoy games of other genres with a good story.My best RPs always take the lore of the world already available and build within their guidelines, letting the characters speak for themselves within that ecosystem. I am both lore-compliant and work within FFXIV's general narrative themes. If you want to create conflict on a larger scale against the narrative, I am not interested.The world is another character I like to add into my RPs, one I hope my writing partners also enjoy manipulating to help tell the story.I tend to write between 1-4 paragraphs, fleshing out the world with additional NPCs as I see fit. I encourage my partners to do the same. Discord character limit can eat it.My favourite genres of RP are: everything! I do a balanced amount of slice of life, adventure, mystery, thriller, horror, romance etc. As long as it contributes to character development I am up for it.With that said, I also prefer a holistic approach to character interactions. If the RP goes into romance, it won't just be cute soft slice of life interactions - it will always be with the context of events happening around the characters.I really enjoy chatting with my RP partners as friends! Please do not hesitate to communicate with me, especially if you're unable to make posts for a while. I tackle some heavy/difficult topics, and utilise physical intimacy as part of character development if it comes up. I want to be able to discuss these themes OOC with maturity and respect within each other's boundaries. 002  Please communicate and be upfront with me.

I genuinely dislike ghosting and flaking, and I would prefer that you tell me we aren't compatible over radio silence and having to chase you for anything.
I will not be offended; I respect people who communicate. 003  I don't enjoy RP that is predominantly one sentence, internal monologue or script dialogue.

I don't expect you to mirror my posts and I prefer quality over quantity, but writing on Discord allows us to write the setting to fit our needs rather than what is available ingame. Our characters aren't standing in a void! Please use the setting. 004  Please do not expect me to RP ingame.

Especially if you are not in my timezone, and I do more than just RP in FFXIV. I prefer a space where we can take our time to respond and flesh out our characters. If you place my RP with you on lower priority because it's Discord-based, avoid me. 005  I am a plot arc-based writer.

I'm terrible at random 'anything goes' interactions. I like for us to have some idea of a goal and endgame, so that we both have goals for our characters that each of us can help contribute towards. So if you would like to write with me, we can brainstorm this together! 006  All the usual RP no-nos aren't welcome.

For the love of god don't come at me wanting to play The Main Character. I do not want to have to explain the lore to you. My RPs are grounded with problems that cannot be solved overnight. Any conflict that would completely go against the FFXIV narrative trajectory is also out of the question; for example resurrecting the Garlean Empire to its former state just to create more conflict is both stupid and off the table.

OOC: I really really like elves who are good at martial styles that isn't just magic or archery."Why don't you play Ishgardian then?"I want wood elves who are really good in mercantile dealings and can go toe-to-toe with fellow close-combat fighters. They can specialise in more than what elves in typical fantasy are depicted as. And that's how I created Twinbrooks, where a bunch of wood elves who no longer have their forest create trade by way of other skills. Like fishing, and an entire fishing industry.

Who is Rivaer? A kind, soft-spoken jock. The kind of guy you want as a wingman. He'll hype you up and have your back if he likes you. If he doesn't, the most he'll do is walk away. Poke the bear and you find out he's a close-combat fighter who burns with suppressed fury. A competent, scary fighter.Combat prodigy. Riv learned martial arts quick, but he doesn't rest on his laurels. He'll critique the martial style and then go out of his way to shore up the knowledge he lacks. With the gods-given ability to pester seek out mentors, he combines Gyr Abanian monk martial arts with the Inner Beast and Kriegstanz techniques to make his fighting style truly his. Who knows who he'll learn from next?Disabled. He has a speech impediment from birth. He's come a long way from his mostly mute childhood and still harbours many insecurities from those days - insecurities that get expressed through a reckless thrill to fight and show he isn't incapable. The only person he wants to prove he's strong is himself, and that's a bit of chaos he's not always equipped to deal with.The ecological hunter. Riv doesn't hunt for glory, fame or just coin. He believes that harmony can be achieved between man and nature after the Calamity and tries to give respect to both. He won't kill if it doesn't address the root of the problem. Not everyone will agree with him, of course, but he isn't afraid to dish out violence if that's what it comes down to.Not Gridanian. Twinbrooks is a fishing town with a population descended from the elezen and hyur who left Gelmorra and did not join Gridania. So Riv does not personally like Gridania or the Twin Adders. He'll still cooperate with them to help with protecting the Twelveswood... but don't expect much else.

To what extent he is considered guilty is left entirely to the characters he interacts with. I will not interfere with IC conflict. Your character is not beholden to educate this man.That said, RP that consists of one character berating the other constantly for their sins makes for directionless writing and unproductive RP. I'm here for character development between both characters and having fun, and that is not fun for me. So if the RP takes this direction I will simply end the RP.

OOC: This man is my RP main. I've been RPing with him for 4 years and counting. I am heavily invested with his progress and therefore am fairly selective with writing partners with him.                    "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing."Aphelius is a difficult character to RP with if you're not an experienced writer who doesn't blend IC and OOC. He's a direct deconstruction and reconstruction of the consequences of indoctrination and imperialism on the society that supported the regime. He's a product of both his society and his choices. I'm not excusing him, he's not excusing himself either.This character specifically represents a member of Garlean society who is both victim and oppressor. Now that Garlemald has fallen, he has to actively fight against the horrible programming to become a better person. This is something he can't do alone.He's not asking for forgiveness. He just needs proof that love, hope and kindness are not weaknesses.

Who is Aphelius? An altruistic medic who loathes himself for not speaking up when he should have, for not using his privilege to do the right thing. His good traits are marred by a warped belief of noblesse oblige and a deep-seated fear of betrayal and being alone that he sometimes lets control him.A victim. A society who has put ambition above morality is a society divided on the inside. Aphelius may be pureblood, but he's been stepped on and abused by self-serving peers and superiors. This is not to excuse him from Garlemald's crimes, but to explain why he didn't speak up - and to him, that's still inexcusable. Tell him he's also a victim and he'd laugh if he could remember how to laugh.Identity. Aphelius is not the sort of Garlean who thinks Garlemald was the best thing since sliced bread. While he is very much a typical Garlean - stubborn, proud, distrustful - he also hated being a part of the war machine and this throws his entire beliefs into question. He scrambles to find something that he can be, that doesn't make him wilt on the inside.Loss. Guilty he may be, but Aphelius has lost a lot. He personally believes he deserves it as much as the Empire deserved to fall. Unfortunately he's not very good at processing grief, and he hates that it tends to become other people's problem at times, but he's resolved to try and come to terms with it as best as he can.Hope. He can't remember the last time he ever felt hopeful about anything. Genuinely, he doesn't think he's strong enough to hope again. But I think he can, and I think he should, and that's what I'm forcing him to do because he can't stay being like this forever. Just between you and me, he is capable of doing the right thing for the right reasons and I'd like to see him get onto the right path.
